The PWP. 2010

I have been involved with the People Watch Project since it started in 2010. The PWP is an ongoing informal dance experience that takes form in public spaces and it has been developed by Deborah Silver the director of Silco Dance.   The intention is to draw people out of their everyday activity and invite them into the world of dance, offering a moment to pause, observe, and engage as the lines of audience and performer are blurred. Every year PWP hits the streets continues to be a new adventure.  The challenge remains: How can we make dance and movement more accessible to those who are not already a part of the dance community?

This was something that tested my ideas of performance and performativity, personal space vs. public space, where are my boundaries? Questions that continue to fuel my interest.
