8 months of questions; and then some.

This is a rough and considerably  incomplete compilation of my questions from the last eight months.  There is also a video of Guillermo Gomez Pena,  his Philosophical Tantrum that contains a lot of questions that he is asking that interest me very much.

ME:

February:

Finger click on/ off things?
Animals in the corners of the mind/ room?

March:

Jeremy at NYLA?

April:

Family dinner?
What are the gritty and fully ways that we construct ourselves?
Where are the places we are allowed to let go?
Do we let go in those places?
Why not?
Are we able to admit to the skeletons that are in our closets?
Are there in each of us personal homages to the things we fear the most?
Where are we ridiculous?
Where do the boundaries change?
Where do we let down our shell to let out our animal?
How comforted were you?
Who was there?
Who gets to choose?

May:

Where?
Dinner w/ Mateo?
Morning class ballet?
Is there a way to get funding?
Sponsorship?
Time to leave?

June:

Where?
Lucas?
The etiquette of death?

July:

Book space for left?
Kris shoot?
Florida?
How much?
When?
How long?
Symmie Lunch?

August:

Where is the line from sport, “culture”/ art?
What is necessary?
What is pleasurable?
What is sellable?
Why do I pay?
What do I get?

September:

Why do you dance?
Why do you choreograph?
What is your need?
What is the concept or idea?
What does it mean now?
How do you see it?
Where does it lie in each of us?
How bad do you want this?
How hard do you want to work?
When does your life start?
Does it matter that there are labels?
How do labels help or hinder the creation of work relation to the labeled topics?
Need it be so dark?
Is authenticity necessarily a dark place?
Where is the nuance or subtlety?
Can imitating something– exactly, without comment (maybe impossible)– be in another context a comment in and of itself?
Aimlessly?
How does one leave such a distinct and transparent print all at the same time?
What happens when we retrace our paths?
How do these principles work when applied to a crowd?
Can this be done lightly?
Can this be done through little things?
Is it important to address the largess and the urgency that is at hand on our planet in a way that deals with the grandiose?
Why are you here?
What do you want from art?
What questions does art have for you in response?
What is real?
What does art want from them?
What ideologies do you carry about the body?
What are you working on at the moment?
How do you engage with pop culture and the search for “real” (I have questions around that word) experience?
How do you deal with the enormity of the issues and conflicts that exist in the world and the comparison the ever present and also important personal things like grocery shopping or brushing your teeth or relationships?
Is it (dance) just a masturbatory satisfaction of physical pleasure and the ego?
How does one get things across to an audience that is that now finds the bizarre banal?
What is there anything to say that hasn’t been said?
Does it matter anyway?

October:

What is before you move?
How do you touch?
How do you receive touch?
How do you negotiate an audience?
What directions or information is helpful/ unhelpful?
Structures that change?
How to come in and out of different states?
How do things affect someone depending on their view or perspective?
What other doors are opened by the states you embody?
What is the right space for each thing?
Why does someone need to see this?
Is there such thing as subversive any more?
How much is enough?
What is art when the world is a circus?
How do we know we are asking the right questions?
